An Ethiopian shotel - SOLD
A double-edged shotel sword from Ethiopia. The forward-curving blade has two fullers running down its length and is still sharp in places. The handle is made of wood with a patterned brass pommel cap. There is a large crack in the handle (probably age-related) and a piece of wood has chipped out near the base of the blade. Otherwise the entire assembly is solid and secure.
