A silver-mounted Muqaffala Dharia
A silver-clad Muqaffala dharia dagger from the Hijaz/Asir regions of southern Saudi Arabia. This type of dagger is also sometimes referred to as a "Sabiki" or "Wahabite jambiya".
The double-edged, curved blade has two shallow fullers running down its length with a decorated flat central rib. The silver scabbard and hilt have been beautifully decorated with embossed and chased scrolling foliate patterns and on the front, and a fish scale design on the back. Granulation was used to create the flower and central pomegranate designs.
The dagger is in great condition, with no loose or missing elements. There's a very slight dent to the silver at the back of the handle, and the blade is in almost immaculate condition.
