A Malay keris

A Malay keris or kris dagger with a staghorn handle in the form of a Jawa Demam. The use of deer antler for the handle is somewhat unusual and raises the possibility that this piece might hail from Sumatra where staghorn hilts on weapons were more common. The scabbard is covered in white metal mounts with pleasing foliate decoration.
